Why pick MariaDB for your project?
MariaDB is a free and open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) that is a fork of MySQL. The original developers of MySQL created it, and it is designed to be a drop-in replacement for MySQL. MariaDB is known for its stability, security and performance. It uses SQL (Structured Query Language) to manage and manipulate data stored in tables. MariaDB has additional features and improvements over MySQL, such as the Aria storage engine and the Cassandra storage engine (MariaDB ColumnStore), which can handle big data analytics and data warehousing tasks. It also comes with additional security features such as the Data at Rest Encryption, and it supports dynamic columns which can be added and removed on the fly. MariaDB is widely used in production environments and is supported by a large community of developers who contribute to its development and maintenance.
